About Our Camp

All of the traditional camp arts, crafts, games, and sports are included in our programming. Children are encouraged to participate in the planning of activities in order to accommodate their individual and group interests. The camp day is a mix of counselor directed and child-initiated activities.

A typical week at CDC Camp centers around a  theme, activities, a corresponding field trip each week, and daily swimming at Buhr Park pool (as allowed by the pool).  All of the traditional camp arts, crafts, games, and sports are included in our programming. Children are encouraged to participate in the planning of activities in order to accommodate their individual and group interests.

Each year, one of our biggest events is our overnight family camp out. Our evening is filled with activities such as adults vs kids capture the flag, a potluck style dinner with camp fire roasted hot dogs, and a game of find the counselors in the dark!

Enrollment and Tuition

CDC is conscious of the racial disparities and inequitable practices across all layers of our society and our unique positions of impact and reach as early childhood educators. We have a responsibility to examine inequities and disparities in our own practices and to take action to ensure that all children and families, including those from historically marginalized groups, have equitable access and a sense of inclusion and belonging in our programs.

In light of these priorities and the limited space available for camp, priority is given to groups that have been historically excluded from access to childcare (e.g. low-income families, single caretaker families, families of color). Registrations are not accepted on a first-come-first-serve basis. In the case it is needed, a lottery will be conducted for remaining spaces by age/group.

The Camp enrollment window is closed for summer 2023 but there may be space available for some groups/weeks.  Please email michelle@communitydaycareinc.org if you are interested in finding out about any openings.
